Dedicated to the memory of Christine Crawford

Christine was one of five children of Colin and Maureen Pickles. She married Neil in 1986 and they had two sons, Andrew and Adam. She was very proud of them. Christine was also a much loved daughter in law, niece, sister, sister in law, cousin, auntie, and great aunt. Family was important to Christine and she helped care for her parents as their health deteriorated. Christine worked at Woodlesford School for more than twenty years, where she made a lot of friends. Christine enriched many people’s lives and was always thinking of others. She raised more than £20,000 for various charities. The family has many happy memories of Christine, including days out and weekends away during her illness. They’ll miss her very much and will continue to hold ‘Team Pic’ events. When Christine became very ill she chose to go into Wakefield Hospice, and was cared for there for four weeks. She continued to laugh and joke, even planning fundraising events from her bed. Her last gesture was to arrange for every nurse in the hospice to receive a bottle of wine to say ‘thank you’ for all they’d done for her. Christine asked her family to continue fundraising in aid of Wakefield Hospice.
